Principal's Notes
Middle and High School Bulldog Parents:
I am filled with excitement to introduce myself as the new Middle and High School Principal for the Hardin-Central C-2 school district for the 2024-2025 School Year. The Hardin-Central school district holds a special place in my heart as it is my alma mater. I am looking forward to returning to my “home” and supporting the education of the students to become life-long learners and productive citizens in this ever changing world.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Unified Science and a minor degree in Health Education. While there I completed my internship to become a certified athletic trainer. I earned my Master’s and Specialist’s degrees in Secondary Educational Administration from William Woods University. My teaching experiences were in the Oak Grove, South Harrison, and Lee’s Summit school districts for 15 years. Most recently, I was the assistant principal at Lee’s Summit High School for the past 7 years.
Whether students are bound for college, technical programs, or the workforce, they deserve to be prepared for their futures. Supporting a variety of courses, programs, and activities will help students have these opportunities to gain the necessary skills to be successful in their career pathway. Students must also do their part to support their plans, such as being at school on a regular basis, develop good learning skills, have a positive mindset, and challenge themselves to meet rigorous high standards.
In order to help students be successful, it takes the community support of the school district. I do encourage you as parents to get involved in your child(ren)’s education both at home and in the school. I will provide opportunities to become involved in the school such as volunteering, being on committees, and even having my door open for conversations. Please feel free to stop in and say hello, send me an email at joyler@hardin-central.org or call me at 660-398-4394.
In closing, in the past the partnership between the educators, parents, students, and community created a rich history and traditions, which allowed for student success both academically and socially. I am honored to return to the place where my love of education and helping students started and reaped the benefits of graduating from Hardin-Central. By continuing the close partnerships previously mentioned, I am confident Hardin-Central will continue to provide students with the best education. If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out to me at the email and/or phone number previously provided.
